Seek SERVPRO’s Help to Remediate Water Damage in Your Home Quickly
Most water intrusion to Wilmington homes is the result of broken plumbing or a leaking roof. Intrusion results in indoor flooding which can be just as damaging and expensive as storm flooding unless a homeowner responds quickly.
Water damage to Wilmington homes is not a common occurrence, but leaks and seeps can happen to every homeowner or resident. SERVPRO has decades of experience supporting Vermont home, condo, and apartment owners who find themselves underwater. We maintain a 24-hour, on-call response team to ensure every home in our community receives the best support possible.
We first inspect the home to determine the services needed. That tells us what equipment to bring in, how many restoration crew members are needed, and gives us a rough estimate of time and cost to provide to the customer. As the inspector does his job, crew members stop the source of the water and isolate the affected area if possible. It takes only minutes to turn off the water main, disconnect a broken appliance, or block a leaky pipe.
Now, we remove standing and excess water. If the flooding is over an inch deep, SERVPRO starts with commercial grade water pumps to drain and remove it. For amounts under an inch, technicians use extraction wands. These devices are adjustable to match the surface and can draw water from carpets and wood floors with damaging them.
With the water out of the home, we begin to dry carpets, floors, and walls. Crew members set up box fans at exit points to draw the cool, damp air and blow it outside. We replace this with warm, dry air generated by air movers that we direct to blow across floors and carpets. We can even direct these devices to force air up walls to carefully dry sheetrock panels without causing them to crumble.
IICRC-certified technicians increase the speed of the drying process with dehumidifiers. These machines draw moisture from the air and nearby property at a rate of up to 25 gallons per day. The reduced air moisture content or humidity means the air movers operate more efficiently.
Even if you do not have standing water in your home; you still need to stop every leak in your home and quickly remove the excess moisture. SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties has worked to protect area homes for almost two decades and provides you with the fastest service possible.
