Residential Water Damage: Dishwasher Failure

Over 90% of water mitigation projects managed by our SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties team are the result of interior, man-made, breaks or failures. Take a moment and consider all the areas in a home that have water in some capacity. Bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, utility rooms, heating pipes, sewer lines, air conditioners, just to name a few.
In a recent water mitigation project managed by our team, the kitchen was the room where the damage occurred, and an expired dishwasher line was the culprit. The property owners returned home to discover a flood in their kitchen which had migrated into the living room, down the hall, and into two neighboring bedrooms. Our team was contacted, and we dispatched a crew to begin mitigation services. Water extraction, removal of base cabinets, drywall, insulation, and flooring were removed. Large dehumidifiers were installed along with fans to thoroughly dry the affected areas.
Once the areas were completely dried and cleaned, our equipment was removed, and the property was all set for reconstruction. By contacting SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties, the water damage was addressed quickly and properly to prevent any further damage from taking place.
