Water Mitigation: Truck Mounted Extraction Units

The world of emergency mitigation is ever evolving. Advancements in equipment and procedures continues to improve making mitigation and the restoration process quicker and more effective. SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties continuously researches ways to better serve our clients.
On the topic of water damage, commercial air movers and dehumidifiers are becoming more effective at drying and are half the size and weight they were years ago. Another piece of equipment that has improved immensely over the years are truck mounted extraction units. Extraction units are the first piece of equipment that are used in a water mitigation project that involves standing water or saturated carpets and/or hard surface flooring. Truck mounted extraction units have significantly more extraction power than a portable extraction unit. That is not to say portable units aren't utilized in certain situations. They are especially useful in getting places a truck mounted unit is not able to.
When responding to a water damage emergency, our truck pulls up to the property at which point an extraction hose is unreeled and brought to the furthest point of the building that has been affected. Using a "wand" attachment, water in the affected areas is extracted and collected in the waste tank which is also housed inside the truck. With the suction strength of the truck mounted unit, we can reach points far from the truck including up multi levels of a building. The suction power also allows for maximum extraction of moisture from carpeting.
SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties has several truck mounted extraction units within their fleet to better serve our clients with the most effective and state-of-the-art equipment. Remove as much water from the affected property as quickly as possible. We're here to help and make water damage "Like it never even happened."
