Helping to keep our local first responders hydrated. Thank you all for your service to our community!
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK:
October is Fire Prevention Month October 6th-12th was recognized as Fire Prevention Week. We have great admiration and appreciation for the incredible sacrifice and dedication made by our local first responders every day. We couldn't think of a better time than Fire Prevention Week to visit local fire departments to deliver cases of bottled water to those brave men and women who keep our communities safe. In addition to cases of water, we also delivered boxes of our SERVPRO "Care Kits" to several local departments. These "Care Kits" contain personal hygiene products which are to be distributed to those who have been displaced from their homes following a fire.
It was great meeting and catching up with so many members of our local fire departments. Thank you to our first responders for all you do. We're incredibly grateful for your service!
2024 Pumpkin Fest!
10/23/2024 (Permalink)
We can't wait for the 2025 Keene Pumpkin Fest! We love this historic community event!
The Keene Pumpkin Festival is a staple event in our local community. Originally, the Keene Pumpkin Festival ran from 1991 to 2014. Several times, the event captured the Guinness World Record for most lit jack-o-lanterns in one place. The record culminated in 2013 when the town saw over 30,000 lit pumpkins! After a hiatus for several years, the Keene Pumpkin Festival has returned to beautiful Downtown Keene, NH.
A supporter of the Keene Pumpkin Festival for many years, SERVPRO® of Windham & Windsor Counties was thrilled to once again get behind this county wide event. This year, SERVPRO® of Windham & Windsor Counties contributed by sponsoring a local school who carved pumpkins for display at the event. We had a blast working alongside staff members from Mt. Caesar Elementary School (Swanzey, NH) loading all the incredibly carved pumpkins by their students and transporting them to Keene! We also assisted with setting up the pumpkins on shelving along Main Street. The students did a tremendous job carving!
We are so proud to support this local community tradition!

Heather Robertson (left), Executive Director of The Gathering Place and Derek Paul (right) Vice President of SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties.
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with Heather Robertson, Executive Director of The Gathering Place Adult Day Services in Brattleboro, VT. We had the opportunity to tour the facility with Heather during our visit. This amazing organization provides a safe, supportive environment where participants access a range of activities, services, and opportunities to socialize. The residents have the opportunity to play games, exercise, participate in arts & crafts, even sing karaoke! The staff and amenities are incredible and each resident is treated with respect, compassion, and the team is dedicated to fostering collaborative community partnerships.
The Gathering Place is currently raising funds for a construction project to upgrade and improve the entrance of their facility. We're delighted to support this effort! Kudos to Heather and the team at The Gathering Place for the great work they do!
Fire Department Care Kit Delivery-KFD

We are more than happy to deliver a supply of our "Care Kits" to your local fire department!
We are very grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Keene Fire Department this morning! We were at Central Station delivering a supply of our Fire Department "Care Kits."
These kits contain personal hygiene products to be distributed to individuals or families who are displaced from their homes following a property fire. They contain items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and tissues. If these individuals are forced to reside elsewhere while their home is cleaned, deodorized, or repaired, these kits will at least save them a trip to the pharmacy or grocery store. One less thing to have to consider following a traumatic event.
Thank you to all the members of our local fire departments and first responders for all you do to keep our communities safe!
2023 Collaborative Food Drive
1/17/2024 (Permalink)
Thank you to our generous community partners who made this year's collaborative food drive successful!
The SERVPRO Collaborative Food Drive began back in 2014 as an idea to include local business partners within the local community to help those in need. Our challenge: how can we streamline the process of food collection while maximizing the volume of non-perishable food items to deliver to the local food banks. Our solution: we will deliver collection boxes to participating businesses and pick them up at the end of the drive. We will then transport the collections to the food banks. The support from local businesses was, and still is, tremendous. Aside from a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic, the food drive has been widely successful each year.
This year's Collaborative Food Drive is in the was no exception. With the help of our amazing partners, over 1,700 pounds of non-perishable food items and cash donations were delivered to the New Hampshire and Vermont Food Banks! Over 1,700 pounds! Amazing! This wouldn't have been possible without the kindness and generosity of these businesses and school.
BIG THANKS to everyone who helped to make this year's drive widely successful!
Hartford Area Chamber-Fall Mixer!

It's always an enjoyable evening when we get to meet with our friends from the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce!
Earlier this month, SERVPRO of Windham & Windsor Counties attended the October Mixer for the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at the White River Junction branch of Mascoma Bank. This particular event was a bi-chamber mixer which included Upper Valley Business Alliance members as well. The event was largely attended by members of both local organizations. Attendees heard from our hosts at Mascoma Bank as well as members of the Hartford Area Chamber board. Delicious food was prepared and provided by Maple Street Catering from White River Junction. It was great to reconnect with our fellow chamber members after a long and hectic summer. Everyone was in very good spirts as the fall season in Vermont is in full swing! Thank you Mascoma Bank for hosting this fun event!

The night was dedicated to recognizing honorees in three main categories: Chamber Member of the Year, which was awarded to Mary Giamartino of Hotel Pharmacy, Entrepreneur of the Year, awarded to Tito Garza of Tito's Tacos, and Person of the Year, awarded to Dan Yates. Also honored were businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries. SERVPRO of Windham and Windsor Counties was graciously recognized as we are celebrating our 45 years in business. We appreciate being honored for this anniversary by the Brattleboro Chamber and our fellow members.
It was a great evening and an incredible honor to celebrate so many great community members and their accomplishments!
